The Becker Ming Systems Proximity Detection and Collision Avoidance System (CAS) was developed to prevent injury and possible loss of life from the operation of mining vehicles in the proximity of mining personnel.
In this environment, it is impossible for the vehicle operator to be fully aware of all personnel and light vehicles in the immediate vicinity at all times. The system provides an early warning indication that alerts the operator to the presence and number of personnel and vehicles in the immediate vicinity.
Various configurations exist which provide solutions for both underground and surface applications.
The Becker Mining Systems Multi-Technology Collision Avoidance System is designed to facilitate bi-directional notification and alert messaging or warning against potential collisions between surface or underground mining vehicles/machines or their operators and/or surface or underground mining personnel.
PERSON TO VEHICLE: So that the persons may be warned of possible stationary or moving vehicles in close proximity.
VEHICLE TO PERSON: So that the vehicle operators may be warned of possible persons in close proximity.
VEHICLE TO VEHICLE: So that vehicle operators may be warned of other stationary or moving vehicles in close proximity.
The Becker Proximity Detection and Collision Avoidance System recognises that no single detection technology is currently capable of providing all of the required information to predict "dangerous proximity" in a reliable and optimal manner.
Our system is therefore principally differentiated from competitive systems in that it utilises multiple detection techniques concurrently and optionally (as appropriate) in order to facilitate System Reliability, System Repeatbility and System Comfort.
